The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) was involved in the search for MH370 from Sunday 09 March 2014 with several ships[1]:- the KD Kasturi, a Kasturi-class corvette[2]; four Kedah-class offshore patrol vessels KD Selangor[3], KD Kelantan[4], KD Pahang[5], and KD Terengganu[6]; and KD Lekiu, a Lekiu-class guided missile frigate[7].
Of the above vessels, only the KD Lekiu joined the search in the southern Indian Ocean, after a 48-hour resupply stop at the Australian Fleet Base West, HMAS Stirling, Garden Island (near Perth in Western Australia). The RMN auxiliary ship Bunga Mas 6 (BM6)[8] was also expected to arrive in Perth on April 25[9] en route to the search area.
